LINKspired #012
Just read this article about designer Dieter Rams, and his philosophy in his design work where Good Design is as Little Design as Possible and was rather inspired by it. I'm now actually making a poster based on his ten principles to "good design" featured in the article.
Made Chocolate chip Cookie in a cup a few weeks ago and I'm so addicted to this one! Totally delish!
Pretty excited to find out tomorrow what has been voted as the Triple J Hottest 100 of 20 years! Go and check out the history of it all! It's so cool you can go and check out the entire archive and check out what was going on in the music scene since 1993.
Scrolling through Lovely Stationary and came across these delightful designs. The James Hotel. Love the patterns in the variations of the backs of the cards. Heart Affair. Love the retro feel to this identity. Science. There is just something about rounded corners that does it for me! And the blue is just gorgeous!
Totally keen to see The Great Gatsby! The Art Deco style identity of the typography they have used is gorgeous! Read about it over at desktop. Aaaand over at Like Minded Studios on Behance. So Striking and pretty!

Among many other cool ideas that I came across on Kick Starter perhaps the simplest was a floating mug. Rather clever!
Etsy has a ridiculous amount of cool stuff. Don't these macaroon earrings look pretty much edible!
This Gazpacho packaging is totally cute.
Gorgeously simple and fresh, Archers Cider packaging.
So this is a useful little website offering advice on how children can save money as they grow. I just really love the colour scheme and the design of the page. It's pretty cute and earthy.
Southern Cross Packaging Awards past winners are pretty inspiring to look through. Some fantastic ideas!
This cereal packaging, Food your body likes, a cereal revolution is way too cool!
The three little pigs illustrations on these Jim Barry Wines are rather sweet!

At the moment I have a thing for milk carton shaped items. And I love this student design: The Cultured Cow. The simplicity of the designs and the colours used are just lovely!
A toothbrush that helps you rinse. How clever!
Loving the packaging design for this Drop In label. How cute is the concept?!
This Chilly Moo concept packaging is pretty funky and cute too!
15 things Charles and Ray Eames taught us. My favourite is 14.
"Make design your life… and life, your design."
Pizza is something I'm craving a lot at the moment so maybe that's why this particular packaging is rather appealing! Qizini is brilliantly done!
The bold simplicity of this Good Food packaging is rather pleasing also.
Was rather excited by my discover of this MagSpreads website.
Fancy Pants. Preeeeeeeeeetty!
As I was getting my ticket today I noticed these charming posters up for V-Line's guilt trip campaign.
Not so much expiring but kind of exciting... not as excited as I normally would be though, but there's a new trailer for Breaking Dawn part II!

As if I don't already love coffee enough these take-away cups designed for the rebranding of Coffee Supreme are just lovely!
The bold simplicity of the rebranding of Berkley London hotels is also rather attractive. Particularly love the complimentary chocolate packaging!
How cool would it be to have your walls covered with ideapaint?!
More gloriously stunning classic packaging design. One colour letterpress job that is just quality!
New favourite blog?! Lovely Packaging is quite like the dieline. It's awesome! Particularly enjoy this students work on this coffee packaging. Gorgeous!
We all know how much I'm in love with chocolate and coming accross a product and packaging like this definitely gets me inspired and happy! Check out these totally gorgeous little chocolate kits. It prompted me to go and look at their website, choc on choc. It's also quite gorgeous! And they have A LOT of really cool concepts in their range! Check out the first aid kit and their range of animal chocolates is totally cute! Such as the cows.
Came across this rare idea of Stormtrooper Cereal a while back and meant to show my brother. How cool to have star wars for breakfast! I thought it was a pretty rad little idea though I'm sure it's quite impossible...

This is just the cutest little illustration art print, Love Yourself.
I want this for on my wall. Imagine, a hole to another universe! Like a portal of possibility.
In love with the gorgeous packaging for the Mac and Ninny Paper Co. In love with the typewriter illustrations and the typefaces and combination of it all together.
The Basic Elements of Creativity. Have a squiz. We try so hard to come up with something entirely original but it's always going to have to start from something.
As if this isn't a neat as lasagne cook book! Bet it tastes extra awesome!
Just In Case the world really ends this year. Quirky and bold. I love it!
Tasty looking moustaches! These are totally cute and clever! Mr. Chocolate looks totally melt worthy!
So much awesome stuff out there when you start to really look for it!

So this is probably the coolest living space I've seen... East Village Studio is just brilliant!
Doing what you love is wonderful. I also feel Trent Walton has a touching view on blogging...
This washroom tour on k. was rather cute and inspiring I thought.
Since watching Factory Girl, weeks ago now, I'm still thinking about Edie Sedgwick at the moment...
Was recently inspired by a young woman who came in to our class to talk to us about where she had got to since doing the very same course I am doing now. It was very interesting getting to hear how she got to where she is in such a short amount of time. She now works at this super cute online business, mooo.
Also having flown to Adelaide over the past weekend, something about airports inspire me a great deal. I just love to fly and wish I could do so much more of it... There's just something about being somewhere where there is the potential to fly away to wherever you want... No web link for this one, just simply linking airports to inspiration!
This was a good little read for everyone out there, especially idea makers!
This article, Design in perspective, on desktop by Scott Larritt rings so true. Sometimes it is just so hard to have people understand what it is you actually do as a designer...
I also found the cool videos over at wethinkthings rather inspiring. Go and check them out!
Hope these leave you with a bit of inspiration. See you on the flip side!

As usual Frankie in the form of their Magazine never fails to inspire me. Also their blog often consist of posts that leave me in awe of the creative talent in this world. I particularly loved their recent post about artist Kate Holland and her book art sculptures. They're are just so outside the box!
Another discovery through Frankie was the Sandwich Cake. It's so laugh out loud funny before you consider what a cool idea it is but then you look at the pictures and decide whether it's appetising or just a little bit hard to take... either way I think it's a wonderfully creative idea!
These Valentines posters are just awesome! Read the desktop article and check out the pictures to see what it's all about.
Speaking of Valentines how comedically cute are these Sweet Morsels cards found at W + K Studios?!
Another post on desktop I found inspiring was about the gorgeous work of Jessica Wong. She's got it all right! Her typography is stunning!
The dieline is another new favourite blog of mine. Full of gorgeous packaging designs a recent favourite are these cute Just Cook spice blends. I love the simplicity yet bold character of it.
Hope this may have inspired in some shape or form!

- A video I found totally inspiring The Future Belongs To Curious. I came across it on Swiss-Miss.
- With all these GIFs popping up on tumblr I was curious to make one myself so found this easy to follow CreativeTech tutorial! Give it a go if you want to make one! Find what I made here on my tumblr, Senseless Confessions.
- Tell me it isn't inspirational that two Canadian 17-year-olds managed to have a lego man fly into space?!
- Did you know that Faker have released their latest album, Get Loved, and you can download it for free? Yes. It's FREE.
- Love this clever little stock motion by Messy Design which I came across on desktop's website.

Eleven-Eleven-Eleven
So it's the 11th of the 11th in 2011. A rare date if ever there was one! And I hope this rare dated Remembrance Day has brought you something special and put a smile on your dial as well as given you the opportunity to take a moment to remember.
I'm pretty happy because as you may remember at the beginning of September I mentioned in Where did August go? that I wanted to lose 5kg. So since then I've been on a pretty strict diet, except for sometimes a little break and over indulgence on weekends and plenty of gym sessions. But despite all that after weighing in today I have now finally lost that 5kg! I'm so excited to have finally achieved it! And I really can't wait for my next gym assessment! Which won't be for another week or so yet. But I'm so keen for it. So so keen! So the hard work has paid off! It took a little longer than I had hoped but perhaps it was a healthier pace to have lost the weight in anyway. So there you go! I set my mind to something and I achieved it. And you can do it too! It just takes some serious discipline and will power and you have to really want to do it. But you can, whatever it is that you want to do!
Hoping to get you a bit LINKspired today.
SwissMiss posted this Lifecycle video by Holstee and I just found it really inspiring and uplifting so I suggest you view. It's quite gorgeous! Holstee in general looks like a kind of cool site! It's a business that started out with the design of a t-shirt made 100% of recycled material and featured a unique holster pocket. Clearly into using recycled materials they now have a large range of other items made out of recycled materials! Such as this rather cute and bright upcycled wallet. Worth a look just to admire there innovative creativity!
Designspirtation is full of A LOT of (I'm sure you can guess) inspiringly awesome links to many talented beings work! I came across this poster (or just a card, not entirely sure) that I really like. I love what it says and I love the design!
As always desktop never fails to inspire me! My pick of their posts that shows you this clever crafty paper work to create the design for this arteuparte magazing cover competition. The design is just fantastic! It's by Noelia Lozano, which is worth a look at there work because they make some pretty awesome stuff!
Hope you enjoy those, I sure did!

Can't believe it's the last day of October! Ridiculous stuff. Nearly only one quarter of 2011 left!
Anyway, today I am launching another new blog branch which goes by the name of LINKspired. This particular branch will be to share all those cool web things that I have and am yet to come across that have inspired me or that I have found in some shape or form useful and then share and pass onto you to hopefully inspire or just put a smile on your dial! A lot of it is from other blogs that I read. So here it goes!

So if I had an iPhone this cover would be on my wish list.
This new campaign for Alzheimers Australia is pretty cool!
I'm always finding Nubby Twiglet's blog inspiring but this particular post about the Rock N Roll Bride magazine she has done some work with is particularly stunningly inspiringly beautiful!
Swiss Miss is another fabulous blog. This storage bag would be very handy in my household back home on the farm.
I went to this Junior meet earlier this month and I possibly am in some of these photos!
If you enjoy a bit of black & white awesomeness you will most likely enjoy this place. Shirotokuro.
