All last week I had the nigglings of a cold, a runny nose and a slight irritation in the back of the throat and now it seems it's gotten worse. By Saturday I managed to have also gained an impressive cough which is only getting a little worse. Yesterday was not much fun as I did feel quite yuk for the most of the day. Was funny as I was getting stuff out of my locker and had a cough my teacher was walking past and made the comment of how unhealthy I sound and how that's a "do what you've gotta do and go home day" when you sound like that. Of course that's not what I was going to do. Can definitely feel the cold in the stomach though. Not feeling fab. Though was surprisingly energetic when I was at the gym last night between blowing my nose and running about I actually made it through my sprints feeling better than I usually do which I find quite strange. Go figure!
Even made it home in time to watch Can of Worms last night. It was quite good. I like Chrissy Swan as host having replaced Ian "Dicko" Dickson. And the panel last night was really good with Megan Gale, Fitzy and Kate. Especially Kate. She's so funny!
Anyways, better get to it!

Sunday Summary 19/8/2012
Matchbox Twenty's new song has been stuck in my head for the most part of the week. She's So Mean. It's just heaps catchy! When I first heard it I was trying to work out why they would be playing old Matchbox Twenty music, hadn't realised they were back together. Also discovered this really awesome track on Triple j Unearthed by Jessica Cerro, Anyone But Me. It's catchy and sweet with her indie pop style. Be sure to go and check it out! Also enjoying The Sapphires film track by Jessica Mauboy, Gotcha. Another catchy one. Kinda keen to see the film actually... And as predicted I have been very much enjoying Lana Del Rey's album. Particularly loving the songs I already mentioned in last weeks Sunday Summary.
So The Hunger Games film was released on DVD on Friday so of course I rushed out to get it and last night watched it with my sisters one of which was as excited as I as we had both only read the book since it coming out and not seen it at the cinema. Shall share my thoughts in the next The Flave.
More cooking, made some delish chocolate pudding and chocolate cupcakes and lemon slice! So much delicious food!
Netball went well and we have now finished our home and away season with a fantastic result! Bring on finals!
The week in thousands of words...
A confusing game of chess with my brother with many substitutions and mixing of sets to make up a whole board or pieces.... it was rather confusing!
Mmmmmmmmmm, jam toast...
Why is cheese so good?!
Thornton is in my family tree so I picked up this chocolate bar to try it out...
One of my favourite bits in The Hunger Games...
Lemon slice and chocolate cupcakes!
Have a good one!

Spiderman Cupcakes...
So as shown in my Sunday Summary, in celebration of my little brothers birthday who happens to be a massive Spiderman fan, I made some Spiderman cupcakes last weekend. Thought I'd share how I made mine, though it's pretty simple and there are plenty of ways you could do it yourself depending on what you like!
Spiderman Cupcakes
You will need:
- Cupcakes (make own preferred recipe)
- Red icing (make red icing however you wish to make it)
- White marshmallows
- Dark chocolate
Firstly you need to make some little cupcakes. I made these delicious ones from the Easy Cupcake book, Double Chocolate Cupcakes that had some white chocolate in them. Very nice. But you can make whatever kind you so desire!

Then you will need to make some red icing. I just mix together icing sugar, a little bit of milk and butter and then hot water until it's the consistency I want. Then add red dye until it's red enough for you.
So then you ice your cup cakes with the red icing and let the icing set. While this happens get your white marshmallows and some kitchen scissors or a knife and cut them into the eye shape you would like. I had some pascal white marshmallows that I cut into three slices and then cut the slices in half to make half circles. Now they're ready to go.
Now melt your dark chocolate and spoon into a piping bag or even better, I used a little zip lock bag which you can fill and then carefully cut a really small opening in the corner and use this. Draw your web onto the iced cupcakes and add the eyes and you're done!
Have fun!

Sunday Summary 12/8/2012
Still deprived of Triple J listening I lack exposure to the glorious tunes of my favourite station. My sister recently purchased Lana Del Rey's Born to Die album though and after listening more and more I'm totally in love. I already have been enjoying her tunes and tossing up the purchase of her album myself for a while so I was rather delighted my sister decided to grab it. Especially loving Diet Mountain Dew which my sister and I have been serenading each other with all day, impossible to get out of your head. I also really like National Anthem which i'm quite sure I've mentioned here before. That and of course Video Games and Born to Die. Looking forward to saturating myself in this album all week!
Bought a few new DVD's, He's Just Not That Into You and Moulin Rouge. The first is a film I've seen and just love and the later of the two I have somehow never watched until this evening. Both shall have a mention in the next The Flave.
Another birthday to celebrate at my house this weekend. My little brother turned seven! I don't know how it happened! It doesn't seem that long since my siblings and I were being babysat at home and edgily awaiting the phone call that would tell us if we had a new little brother or sister. It finally came but it was a rough week as it turned out he wasn't in the very best of health and was rushed by helicopter off to a hospital with better facilities to be treated. Thank goodness he was ok and now.... he's above my hip in height and one of the sweetest little boys that gives the very best of cuddles you could possibly get. Love you Sammy!
Since my little Sammy is such a spiderman fan I made him some cute little Spiderman cupcakes. There's a picture below...
All that and my busy social week made for fantastic fun. All in all a good week and weekend!
The week in thousands of words...
Sam's delicious birthday cake!
Om nom nom!
Little Spiderman cupcakes I made especially for Spiderman's biggest fan for his birthday!
Aeroplane eggs! Bit cute.
The Hunger Games, Catching Fire.
"I wish I could freeze this moment, right here, right now, and live in it for ever."
- Peeta
Equals a lovely weekend!
These super small cute little mandarines that I've been enjoying this week.
Have a good one!

Socialite...
So I'm feeling rather social at the moment! I feel like I've been out all week nearly!
Apart from another busy weekend last weekend and the usual weekly things I did have an extra busy social week.
Tuesday night I attended the first ever dog's birthday party I have ever been to. One of my friends housemates decided to throw a cute little party for her cute little dog and so it was done. It was so cute! Lots of cake and some fantastic dip. I do enjoy a good dip. They had this very nice one with sweet potato as well as spicy capsicum. Was delish! This of course then involved heading out which was grand fun. Haven't done that during the week for some time! Such fun to hit the dance floor with the girls!
Then Wednesday night I went out for dinner with a group of people as a sort of farewell as one of them has been here in Melbourne from overseas on exchange and goes back home this weekend. It's the first time I've eaten out "locally" since I've been down here. It's only taken 18 months! I was a little ashamed when I realised this was the case! I guess my constant tripping back and forth has stopped me from having time to do those sort of things very much. But anyways, I had a rather delicious red beef curry which I think I've been kind of craving for a while now. Lately spicy things are so very appealing.
Then a late netball match on Thursday. Which we did win. Such a good week!

LINKspired #009
Among many other cool ideas that I came across on Kick Starter perhaps the simplest was a floating mug. Rather clever!
Etsy has a ridiculous amount of cool stuff. Don't these macaroon earrings look pretty much edible!
This Gazpacho packaging is totally cute.
Gorgeously simple and fresh, Archers Cider packaging.
So this is a useful little website offering advice on how children can save money as they grow. I just really love the colour scheme and the design of the page. It's pretty cute and earthy.
Southern Cross Packaging Awards past winners are pretty inspiring to look through. Some fantastic ideas!
This cereal packaging, Food your body likes, a cereal revolution is way too cool!
The three little pigs illustrations on these Jim Barry Wines are rather sweet!

Sunday Summary 5/8/2012
So this week being without my phone, my poor broken phone that I accidentally killed last weekend, has been rather frustrating. All the info that was stored on the phone that I've now lost. All gone. Lucky Mum's old one is available to use until I can get a new one on my plan at the end of the month. Counting down the days! Not only that but the phone has a different headphone plug to the usual so mine don't plug in and I can't listen to the radio which means I'm having triple j withdrawals!
I finally finished reading The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks(The Notebook, The Last Song). Shall fill you in on my thoughts in the next The Flave. So now I'm onto the second Hunger Games book, Catching Fire.
Was my little sisters 9th birthday this weekend. Not quite sure how she's that old already. Wasn't that long ago and she was just toddling around as a two year old... so anyway, birthday cake was on the menu. The cake was chocolate topped with icing, marshmallows, white chocolate and musk sticks! Prettttty delish!
Bought a new dress from Dotti that was marked down to $20 from somewhere around $70. I was pretty happy with that. It's blue and lacy and so pretty. I'm a little bit in love with it. Also bought some new dark navy blue jeans from Glassons. They were around $30 which was pretty good. Kind of in love with them also.
The week in thousands of words...
Gorgeous lacy dress.
Pretty much?
New navy blue jeans!
Pancakes... I do enjoy pancakes...
Birthday cake!
It was really stormy one way and blue skies the other... this doesn't really capture it though...
Pizzaaaaa...
Haven't had burger rings in foreverrr!
